There are no official statement from Nikon if we will ever see a replacement for the D700 system, a funny fact though is that the D[number] keeps rising.

Hi folks!
It have been a while since the last post, this due to a lot of studding @ the university.

I’ve experienced that my site have very slow loading times, so I asked some of my friends to confirm that. They have the same slow loading time aswell. Curious as I am I dida trace route yesterday to check the bounces between the servers and looked at the latency.
As soon as I hit the Godaddy servers the latency jump up a bit from 7-23ms to ~200ms.
I mailed Godaddy customer support and they didn’t have the same problem, my guess is that the peering between Sweden/Europe and US isn’t the best. Godaddy mentioned that they have a new European hosting facility, so I probably move the entire site over there and hopefully it will load faster.

I have some good news and some bad news with me today.

I think I’ll begin with the bad news first.
The bad news is that one of my computers one week ago started to get some strage artifacts during the boot up sequense and after the boot up aswell.
If you don’t know what artifacts is I’ll try to explane it fast and short.
Artifacts is a visual graphical error (for example colored dots and lines) which can be generated from a malfunction from the processor (GPU), memory chip, cables. In my case I think the card have been overheating till the point some part on the card (probably the GPU) just gave up.
Well the graphics card isn’t hard to replace but it’s sad both for me and the wallet, especially the wallet…

The story doesn’t stop here.
Just for two days ago the computer totaly blacked out in front of me and gave me a blackscreen. The first thought that came in my mind was…”Ok, this isn’t so good at all”, to get a blackscreen isn’t fun, this means that I had to manually do a error check for each and every component and that takes time I promise you!
After a couple of hours of testing and changing components the computer still didn’t started up as it should. The remaining components was the motherboard and processor (CPU), the only components I couldn’t test due to lack of spare parts.
I have to options, cross my fingers and hope it’s the motherboard (s775) that is the problem and buy a new one… or buy a new motherboard (with s1366), new processor and memory which will be more expensive.

To the good news:

To be well prepared for the future of this personal portfolio/blog site I’m going to put up a newsletter subscription function (using the Mee News Plugin Mailpress plugin) there I’ll post what have happed the past week(s) or if I want to post something important.

UPDATE:
I decided to just buy the motherboard and cross my fingers that it’s just the motherboard itself that made the black screen.

Tim – Did you know that you can browse with my iPhone and iPod Touch via the buildin Safari web browser and access your blog with out any problems?

Mr JP – Tim I know, but what I’ve done is to make it easier for the visiter to browse through the different posts/comments/pages in a much more compact way without zooming in and out everytime…

Tim – But Mr JP what if I like to zoom in and out is there a way to look at the blog in it’s default style?

Mr JP – Yes Tim there is a way to do that. What you need to do is to scroll down to the bottom and move the slider “Mobile view” from on to off.

Tim – Ooo gee thank you Mr JP.

Mr JP – No problem Tim.

For the rest of you who have a question or two don’t hesitate to send me a message – Just go to the contacts page and write down what you want to ask.
