Good news and Bad news
I have some good news and some bad news with me today.
I think I’ll begin with the bad news first.
The bad news is that one of my computers one week ago started to get some strage artifacts during the boot up sequense and after the boot up aswell.
If you don’t know what artifacts is I’ll try to explane it fast and short.
Artifacts is a visual graphical error (for example colored dots and lines) which can be generated from a malfunction from the processor (GPU), memory chip, cables. In my case I think the card have been overheating till the point some part on the card (probably the GPU) just gave up.
Well the graphics card isn’t hard to replace but it’s sad both for me and the wallet, especially the wallet…
The story doesn’t stop here.
Just for two days ago the computer totaly blacked out in front of me and gave me a blackscreen. The first thought that came in my mind was…”Ok, this isn’t so good at all”, to get a blackscreen isn’t fun, this means that I had to manually do a error check for each and every component and that takes time I promise you!
After a couple of hours of testing and changing components the computer still didn’t started up as it should. The remaining components was the motherboard and processor (CPU), the only components I couldn’t test due to lack of spare parts.
I have to options, cross my fingers and hope it’s the motherboard (s775) that is the problem and buy a new one… or buy a new motherboard (with s1366), new processor and memory which will be more expensive.
To the good news:
To be well prepared for the future of this personal portfolio/blog site I’m going to put up a newsletter subscription function (using the Mee News Plugin Mailpress plugin) there I’ll post what have happed the past week(s) or if I want to post something important.
UPDATE:
I decided to just buy the motherboard and cross my fingers that it’s just the motherboard itself that made the black screen.
